Description
On July 5th, CCC faculty member Fernando Rojas-Galván will depart from Seaside on his bike to travel nearly 1600 miles as he visits each of the 17 community colleges in Oregon. His motivation for undertaking this great cycle adventure is to raise funds to help cover textbook costs for Clatsop Community College students who are enrolled in certificate and degree programs. We invite the community to join the CCC Foundation Board on July 5th at the Beach Chair in Seaside to make signs of support and encouragement for Fernando as he rides down Broadway to the turnaround and then continue south on the Prom to Avenue U. We will space out along his route holding signs and cheering him on. After 20 days of riding, Fernando will return to Astoria on July 25th. A celebration is planned to cheer on Fernando as he crosses the finish line at the CCC Bookstore at the Lexington Campus.
